Royal Air Maroc launches Catania-Casablanca route
Royal Air Maroc, the flag carrier of Morocco and a member of the Oneworld global alliance since 2019, continues its expansion on the Italian market by inaugurating the new direct flight between Catania and Casablanca, operational from 28 June.
Catania-Casablanca flight schedule
The connection operates twice a week, on Mondays and Saturdays, operated with Boeing 737s with 159 seats, at the following times:
- Monday: departure from Casablanca at 3:20 pm, arrival in Catania at 7:40 pm. Return at 8:40 pm, arrival in Casablanca at 11:35 pm.
- Saturday: departure from Casablanca at 12:10 pm, arrival in Catania at 4:30 pm. Return at 5:30 pm, arrival at 8:05 pm.
On June 28 at 12 noon at Catania Airport the ribbon cutting will be held, with the participation of Mohammed Adil Korchi (Country Manager RAM Italy), Samira Bellali (Consul of Morocco) and Daniele Casale (SAC - Catania Airport).
The activation of the connection brings the number of Italian cities served by Royal Air Maroc to seven: Milan, Rome, Bologna, Turin, Venice, Naples and now also Catania. In total, there are now 45 weekly flights between Italy and Morocco.
Strategic synergies and presence in Italy
Royal Air Maroc's codeshare agreement with ITA Airways allows it to connect more Italian destinations to Casablanca via Rome: these include Bari, Brindisi, Genoa, Palermo, Trieste, Verona and Florence.
From Casablanca Airport, you can continue your flight to destinations in Africa, the Americas and Asia, thanks to fast connections and a terminal with lounges and services dedicated to families and travellers in transit.
Sustainability and future vision
Environmental commitment is a pillar of Royal Air Maroc's strategy. At COP28, the airline operated Africa's first zero-emission flight, using sustainable fuel (SAF) to cover 40% of the needs on a Casablanca-Dakar flight, with full compensation for residual emissions.
An ambitious and international development plan
Royal Air Maroc plans to quadruple its fleet by 2037, reaching 200 aircraft. To date, new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners are already in operation, and ten more aircraft will arrive by 2025.
The expansion of the network is accompanied by new routes to Asia (Beijing), Latin America (São Paulo) and North America (Toronto), and looks to international sporting events such as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which will see Morocco as a protagonist.
