ITA Airways, the new Italian national carrier, is participating in the ‘Week of Italian Cuisine in the World’, the event taking place throughout the United States from November 14 through November 20, 2022.
With more than 8,000 events in 100 countries in the past six editions, the Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World is among the main initiatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the promotion of Made in Italy, with particular attention to the agri-food sector.
The theme of this seventh annual ‘Week of Italian Cuisine in the World’ is conviviality, sustainability and innovation - the ingredients of the Italian cuisine necessary for people’s health and the protection of the planet.
ITA Airways has joined two initiatives in the extensive program of the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, which are both held in Washington: the first event with a focus on Italian haute cuisine took place yesterday evening at Villa Firenze, residence of the Italian Ambassador to the U.S., the second event will be held tonight at the Italian Embassy with the participation of starred Chef Roberto Cerea for a culinary journey with top quality food. Each course will be prepared with products from local markets or from well-known Italian companies committed to sustainability.
“The Italian cuisine, among the most beloved in the U.S., perfectly blends tradition and innovation, simplicity and taste, quality and creativity, furthering health and wellness” said Ambassador Zappia, highlighting that the week of the Italian cuisine aims at “promoting further growth of made in Italy exports in the American market, which values our high quality food and wine products tied to certified, internationally renowned standards.”
The United States are the first international market for ITA Airways, which is committed to provide the best customer experience to travelers flying to Italy on its aircraft. From the moment they are on board, customers experience the true Italian welcome and start to enjoy the wonders of Italy. With a total of 45 weekly roundtrips from Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa to New York, Miami, Boston and Los Angeles, ITA Airways aims to be the reference carrier between the U.S. and Italy and via Rome to Europe and the Mediterranean.
Moreover, as recently announced, new destinations in the United States are expected d to open in 2023 with direct flights operated from Rome Fiumicino to San Francisco and Washington, starting from the summer season.
