The official entry of ITA Airways into the Lufthansa Group, which took place in January, presented the first news for airline passengers:
✈ New partnership between loyalty programs: Volare's 2.7 million members will be able to earn and redeem points on Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines flights, while Miles&More 36 million members will have access to ITA Airways flights.
✈ Exclusive lounges and terminals : Access to 130 Lufthansa lounges, faster transfers thanks to integration into the Frankfurt and Munich terminals.
✈ Codesharing and optimized connections: over 250 destinations available to ITA Airways customers thanks to agreements with Lufthansa Group carriers and more efficient connections between hubs.
ITA Airways has also formalized its exit from SkyTeam (scheduled for April 30, 2025) and will start the process to join Star Alliance (the largest airline alliance in the world based in Frankfurt, Germany), with completion expected in early 2026.
