flydubai inaugurates flights to Nairobi
The airline flydubai, based in the United Arab Emirates, has inaugurated its new direct flight between Dubai and Nairobi, strengthening commercial and tourist ties between the Middle East and East Africa. The first flight landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), greeted with the traditional water cannon salute and in the presence of representatives of the Kenya Tourism Board, the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA) and the Kenya Airports Authority.
A new route to connect Dubai and East Africa
The new four-weekly service (operating every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) - takes off from Terminal 3 of Dubai International Airport (DXB) arriving in Nairobi, one of the most dynamic capitals on the African continent.
With this new connection, flydubai now serves 12 destinations in the African market, including Addis Ababa, Dar es Salaam, Entebbe, Cairo, Mombasa and Zanzibar.
From 1 October 2025, the company has also increased flights to Mombasa, bringing them to a daily frequency, for a total of 11 weekly flights to Kenya.
