Cathay renews membership programme

Cathay has announced an evolution of its membership programme, designed to offer members a simpler, smoother and more rewarding experience, with an approach that combines recognition, flexibility and exclusive benefits in both travel and lifestyle. The changes will officially come into effect from January 1, 2027, with a transition period starting on January 1, 2026, giving members one year to familiarize themselves with the new system.

A smoother progression path

With the new program, status progression becomes more transparent and continuous:

• Status Points will no longer be reset after an upgrade, allowing members to advance faster and potentially reach multiple status levels in the same year.
• Each point accumulated will contribute to the achievement of the next level, rewarding perseverance and loyalty.

A uniform membership cycle

Cathay is introducing a standardised membership cycle that will correspond to the calendar year (1 January – 31 December) for all members, eliminating individual variations.
This new calendar will offer greater clarity and planning, making it easier to travel and accumulate points together with family and friends.

Continuity of benefits

Gold members and above will now be able to carry over up to 50% of their excess Status Points to the following year, thus maintaining a concrete advantage to maintain or reach higher levels.
A way to reward loyalty and ensure stable progression over time.

Diamond Exec status is born

From 2027, Cathay will introduce a new elite level: Diamond Exec, reserved for members who earn at least 2,400 Status Points in a year.
This status will offer a personalized and tailor-made travel experience, with exclusive benefits such as:

• a dedicated Relationship Manager, to manage every need with individual attention.
• Tailor-made services and high-profile benefits, designed to offer a superior level of comfort and well-being.

One year Diamond free

Members who have maintained Diamond status for at least five cumulative years will receive one free year of renewal for every 6,000 Status Points earned during their membership.
A privilege without deadlines, which members can use whenever they wish, ensuring maximum flexibility even in years with less travel activity.
