Emirates increases daily flights to Johannesburg
From next March, a new daily flight will offer passengers additional connections to the airline's global network
Emirates is launching its fourth daily flight to Johannesburg from 1 March 2025, increasing connectivity and premium travel options on one of the most sought-after routes on its global network. The announcement follows the introduction of the second daily Airbus A380 flight between Dubai and Johannesburg, which began on 1 September 2024, a testament to the strategic importance of South Africa to the airline.
The new frequency will be operated with a three-class Boeing 777-300ER , adding 708 seats per day to South Africa's largest international airport.
"South Africa has always been a popular destination for both leisure and business travellers, and this fourth daily flight allows us to better respond to the growing demand for connections between the two countries," said Adnan Kazim, Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates. "We are grateful to the South African authorities for their support in making this new frequency possible, which restores pre-pandemic capacity with 49 flights."
