Beginning March 2020 Alitalia will operate Rome-Tokyo flights to/from Haneda airport
Italian airline has obtained traffic rights to fly to/from this airport located about 20 kilometers from the Japanese capital city center
Italian civil aviation authority has entrusted to Alitalia the traffic rights to fly to/from Tokyo Haneda airport beginning from 29 March 2020.
Beginning from that date, the daily Alitalia Rome-Tokyo service will therefore land and take-off from Haneda airport, which is located about 20 kilometers south of the Japanese capital city, instead of flying to/from Narita airport, located about 70 kilometers east of Tokyo. Transfer times between Haneda airport and the city will be greatly reduced for Alitalia passengers, also thanks to the extensive public transport network serving the airport.
Haneda airport is also the main hub for All Nippon Airways (ANA) domestic flights. Alitalia and All Nippon Airways started in 2018 a codesharing agreement on services between Italy and Japan and on some Japanese domestic routes. The transfer to Haneda of the Rome - Tokyo flight will guarantee travelers even more comfortable and faster connections between the Alitalia service and All Nippon Airways domestic flights.
Tickets for the Rome Fiumicino - Tokyo Haneda service will be on sale in the coming weeks, as soon as Alitalia obtains the definitive confirmation of flight schedules.
