American Airlines inaugurates direct flight to Bahamas

From 14 February 2026, three weekly connections open fast access to the island of Bimini, the heart of the Caribbean archipelago, with premium services and easy connections from the United States and Canada

American Airlines is expanding its presence in the Caribbean with the launch of a new direct flight from Miami to Bimini, the westernmost of the Bahamas, famous for its white beaches and turquoise waters. From February 14, 2026, travelers will be able to reach this tropical paradise in just 30 minutes of flight, with three weekly frequencies operating on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The service, the only non-stop connection from the United States to Bimini, will be operated with Embraer 175 aircraft equipped with a premium cabin, ensuring comfort and a high-level travel experience.

With this new route, Bimini becomes the seventh Bahamian destination served by the company and strengthens the winter offer to the archipelago: overall, in the peak season American Airlines plans over 30 daily flights to the Bahamas, with departures from the main hubs of the United States.

Bimini, a small Caribbean jewel just 50 miles from Miami, offers visitors spectacular coral reefs, wreck diving, world-class deep-sea fishing and beachfront resorts where you can relax among unspoiled nature and local cuisine based on fresh seafood.

Italy is directly connected to Miami thanks to American Airlines flights from Milan Malpensa and Rome Fiumicino. This connectivity allows Italian travelers to reach the Miami hub (MIA) comfortably and continue with a quick flight to Bimini, making the Bahamas an even more accessible destination.
