Doris and Edward bear arrive at Heathrow

London Airport launches limited edition Heathrow Bears in airport stores and celebrates 80 years with a special initiative dedicated to departing Travellers

Heathrow brings Doris and Edward Bair, the famous teddy bears that have become one of the most recognizable symbols of the London airport over the years, to its airport stores for the first time. The retail launch accompanies the start of Heathrow's 80th anniversary celebrations and transforms two public-loved personalities into a new exclusive product designed for passengers.

From 25 March, the limited-edition teddy bears are available at World Duty Free and Glorious Britain points of sale at the airport, as well as via the Reserve & Collect service, for £27.99 each.

For one day, however, Heathrow has also planned a special initiative: departing passengers named Doris or Edward will be able to receive a teddy bear free of charge, while stocks last, by showing their passport or boarding pass at the information desk in the terminal.

Appearing for the first time in the 2016 Christmas commercial, Doris and Edward have been able to conquer families and Travellers with a narrative made of affection, reunions and a spirit of travel. Their return to the Heathrow marketing campaign in October 2025 had already brought this pair of characters back into the spotlight, who have become part of the airport's emotional identity over the years.

The initiative is also part of an already very strong travel retail  context: Heathrow sells over 82,000 soft toys a year, with peaks in the summer months, when many passengers choose a toy or a bear to take on a trip. With Doris and Edward, the airport now adds a new exclusive product that combines merchandising, storytelling and celebration of the airport experience.
