Contemporary art in the Milan Bergamo Airport store

Until 24 August, inside the main store after the security checks, the exhibition "Marks & Multitudes - abstraction as accumulation" by the painter from Bergamo Bianca Bona

The wait before boarding becomes an opportunity to meet contemporary art. At Milan Bergamo Airport, immediately after the security checks, Difstore Art Space is born, a new free exhibition space inserted inside the main Difstore.

The project combines the usual offer of books, newspapers and travel objects with a cultural program designed to accompany passengers and enrich the airport experience.

The first exhibition with Bianca Bona

Difstore Art Space will be inaugurated by the painter from Bergamo Bianca Bona with the exhibition "Marks & Multitudes - abstraction as accumulation", open until 24 August.

The works are born from a process of overlapping and accumulation, in which signs, tensions and gestures emerge below the surface and are then recomposed into essential geometric structures. The result is an only apparent balance between the emotional and rational components.

A project to enhance local artists

Difstore Art Space was created with the aim of giving identity and roots to a place crossed every day by an international audience. In fact, the store records up to 9,000 daily passages, offering local artists a large and constantly moving showcase.

The curatorship is entrusted to Maria Lucrezia Corno, an art historian under 30 with a background that combines economics and culture. After studying Art History at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Milan, she continued her career with a master's degree at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London.

The exhibition calendar includes new installations every month and is also open to spontaneous applications. Due to the characteristics of the space, only two-dimensional works can be presented. For passengers, Difstore Art Space in the new difstore thus adds free cultural content to the itinerary at Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY), transforming the time before the flight into a moment of discovery of local artistic talent.
