PRG Airport


A joint stock company Prague Airport is a subsidiary of the joint stock company Český Aeroholding. This company covers the state-owned companies operating in the field of air transport and related infrastructure services. Prague Airport is the operator of the most important international airport in the Czech Republic and the biggest airport among the new EU member states. It has received the Eagle Award for 2011 awarded by the Association of IATA for being the best developing airport. This international “air-hub” handles about 11 to 12 million passengers annually. They can choose from about 50 regular airlines connecting Prague directly to about 130 destinations around the world. Five regular Cargo carriers operate here, as well as dozens of other companies providing charter flights. A joint stock Company Prague Airport (Letiště Praha, a. s.) was founded in February 2008 within the privatization transformation of a state enterprise Správa Letiště Praha, s. p.  In 2011, Prague Airport was incorporated in the above-mentioned holding company structure and its sole shareholder is the joint stock company Český Aeroholding.

Transportation to/from the airport

Czech Railways and  Václav Havel Airport Prague introduced their offer for passengers: Train & Airport.  The passengers can travel for special price to  Václav Havel Airport Prague and back home by train (domestic line) from any connected location in the Czech Republic. Transport between the Prague Main Railway Station and the airport or vice versa is arranged by the Airport Express (AE) shuttle bus free of charge. 


RegioJet Trains

Departing from Vaclav Havel Airport Prague:  get to the airport aboard IC RegioJet trains and connecting Airport Express shuttle buses.

The ticket includes an IC RegioJet return fare to/from Prague and the connecting Airport Express shuttle bus return fare (from the Prague main railway station to Vaclav Havel Airport Prague and back or vice versa).  If your journey originates at the airport, pick the Airport Express shuttle bus tickets at the STUDENT AGENCY counter located in the Terminal 1 Departure Hall.

This direct fast Airport Express shuttle bus connecting the Prague main railway station and Vaclav Havel Airport Prague is operated in cooperation with the Prague city transport and Czech Railways. Airport Express stops are located at: the Prague main railway station, at Vaclav Havel Airport Prague – in front of Terminals 1 & 2 and at bus stops marked AE.


Shuttle bus

Regular shuttle buses to the centre of Prague: everyday scheduled operation, 30-minute intervals. Free of charge for children aged up to 6 with adult accompaniment.



Bus Lines:

119: Prague Airport - Dejvická (metro line A) - 24 minutes.

100: Prague Airport - Zličín (metro line B) - 18 minutes.

179: Prague Airport - Nové Butovice (metro line B) - 45 minutes.

Airport express: Prague Airport - Prague Main Train Station (metro line C and connection to SC, EC, IC and EN trains) - 35 minutes.

Bus stop: Terminal 1; Terminal 2 – in front of the Arrival hall.


Intercity coach services (Student Agency) 

Coach services throughout the Czech Republic. Stops: Terminal 1 - under the elevated highway at Parking Lot C.



The airport is located about 19 km from the city center of Prague. Continue on Aviatická, then take R7 and Pražský okruh in the direction of Praha-Řepy continues on Zborovská.

AAA Radio and Fix Taxi. 


Car hire

The car rental companies present at the airport at the Parking C are: Avis, Budget, Czechocar, Dvorak, Europcar, Hertz, Rent Plus and Sixt.
