From Fiumicino new Smartwings direct flight to Prague
The first Smartwings direct flight to Prague takes off from Rome Fiumicino's "Leonardo da Vinci" airport, an important step forward in the expansion of the company's network that strengthens the link between Italy and the Czech Republic.
Smartwings, a Czech airline that has been on the market for 28 years, thus continues its growth path in Europe, offering new opportunities for travel and connection between the two capitals.
The new Rome - Prague connection entered service on 23 October 2025, with four weekly frequencies (Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday) as part of the 2025/26 winter season. Starting from 29 March 2026, with the start of the 2026 summer timetable, the connection will become daily, offering passengers even more flexibility and choice.
The new route enriches the offer of connections to Central Europe and confirms the ability of Rome Fiumicino Airport to attract new international airlines, thanks to a constantly growing market and an airport with recognized excellence in terms of quality of services and customer satisfaction.
The airline continues to grow in the Italian market and the opening of the connection from Rome Fiumicino is part of a consolidation strategy: Smartwings is already present with seasonal flights from Lamezia Terme, Catania, Olbia and Cagliari.
