At Prague Airport comes the Christmas carol inspired by the sounds of travel
Prague Airport is kicking off the festive season with a unique project: an original Christmas carol, created for Christmas 2025, combining greeting verses with the authentic sound of airport traffic. The melody, designed to evoke the emotions of departure and arrival, will be broadcast on the radio as a Christmas commercial (with a prize competition) and will be part of the initiatives that animate the airport throughout the festive period.
"Christmas carols are part of the soul of the holidays. Ours is special because it comes from the real sounds of the airport: the movement of passengers, the noise of the gates, the unique energy of the journey that are transformed into a surprising harmony", explains Eva Krejčí, Director of Communication and Marketing at Prague Airport.
The song, entitled Departures and Dreams, will be listenable on Spotify or via QR Code present in airport screens, partner shopping centers and major metro stations.
The Christmas atmosphere is already visible throughout the airport thanks to the decorations inspired by the works of Josef Lada, a famous Czech illustrator. A photo room dedicated to its winter landscapes – set up between Terminals 1 and 2 – will be accessible until 10 January 2026, offering Travellers a scenic set where they can take photos with themed accessories. The Christmas trees are also embellished with glass ornaments made by Czech artisans, a tribute to local tradition.
The richness of Czech Christmas is also told through a photographic exhibition set up on the ground floor of Terminal 2, open until the end of January and created in collaboration with the Czech Photo organization. The exhibition traces the many souls of the festivities, from whitewashed Prague to rural nativity scenes to the tradition of scouting that brings the light of the Nativity.
The December calendar is full of events:
- 4 December: special guided tours dedicated to children.
- December 5: St. Nicholas and his entourage will distribute sweets to passengers.
- 11 December: solidarity markets between Terminals 1 and 2 and concert in favour of the Pink Bubble foundation, which supports young people undergoing cancer treatment.
- December 15th: creative workshop at the airport where you can paint a glass Christmas decoration to take home.
- December 18th: performance of the Lucky Voice Band at various points of the airport.
Prague Airport's Christmas program culminates on Christmas Eve, when departing Travellers will be offered ginger cookies prepared by the protected Blue House laboratory, accompanied by a card telling about Czech Christmas traditions.
