Doha

Hamad International Airport (HIA) is in Doha, the capital of Qatar. The airport was opened in 2014 with a ceremonial flight from Qatar Airways, the national airline.
 
Hamad International Airport (HIA) is the Hub of Qatar Airways and, both the airline and the airport, are part of the Qatar Airways Group.
 
Hamad International Airport was built to accommodate large aircraft, including the A380. Currently the airport has a capacity of 8,700 passengers per hour, more than 30 million passengers per year and is undergoing further expansion to accommodate over 50 million passengers. HIA serves different destinations worldwide.
 
The airport has 12 VIP lounges in addition to a hotel, gym, swimming pool and spa, all within walking distance from the departures gates.

Transport to/from the airport
Bus
Doha’s bus network connects Hamad International Airport to various destinations across the city. All buses are operated by Mowasalat, Qatar’s state transport company. 
 
Bus routes:
  • Route 777: HIA - West Bay - the Pearl - Zig Zag Towers via Corniche (circular route)
  • Route 109: Al Ghanim Bus Station - HIA - Barwa Village - Al Wakra - Mesaieed (also in the reverse direction)
  • Route 747: HIA - Souq Waqif - Al Ghanim Bus Station - Old Salata Area via Al Matar Street (also in the reverse direction)
  • Route 737: HIA - Karwa City Bus Stations (also in reverse direction)
  • Route 727: HIA - Al Khor (also in reverse direction).
 
Car
By car to / from Doha airport and vice versa, take the Ras Abu Abboud Expy road for 15 kilometers in 20 minutes.
 
Taxi
‘Karwa’ taxis offer a way travel to / from Doha from Hamad International Airport and vice versa. In airport, the taxi service is at the Taxi Pavilion located to the left end of the Arrivals hall. All airport taxis are operated by Mowasalat, a Qatari state-owned company. 
 
Car hire
The Hamad International Airport (HIA) offer different car rental service. The driver must hold either an International driving licence or a license issued from a GCC country (Gulf Cooperation Council).
