F-Air Play: the ENAC campaign that teaches passengers how to travel better

Not just a decalogue of good practices: ENAC's new initiative accompanies Travellers with brochures, videos and thematic insights to promote responsible behaviour at the airport and on board

Traveling by plane means sharing spaces, times and rules with thousands of people. This is why ENAC – the Italian Civil Aviation Authority – has launched F-Air Play – Play clean, fly serene, a national campaign aimed at passengers with the aim of promoting correct and responsible behaviour during all stages of the journey, from arrival at the airport to disembarkation.

The initiative, active in Italian airports and online, is part of the European "Unruly Passengers" campaign promoted by EASA to prevent unruly behavior that can compromise the safety and comfort of the flight. Unlike traditional information campaigns, F-Air Play was conceived as a real continuous communication project. Through the language of sport and the concept of fair play, ENAC invites every passenger to do their part so that the journey becomes a safer, more inclusive and enjoyable experience for everyone.

A platform dedicated to Travellers

The heart of the initiative is the F-Air Play portal, where passengers can consult free information materials, videos and brochures dedicated to the different moments of the airport experience. In addition to the general brochure with the decalogue of the responsible traveler, the site is updated with thematic insights, each dedicated to a specific correct behavior and told through sports disciplines such as fencing, archery or pole vaulting, to make the message more immediate and engaging.

For those preparing to leave, it is therefore a real practical guide, which can be consulted before traveling, with simple but useful advice to face each phase of the journey at the airport with greater awareness.

The decalogue of the responsible passenger

The campaign recalls some fundamental rules that help improve the travel experience for everyone:

  • always follow the instructions of the airport staff;
  • present yourself at check-in with baggage that complies with the airline's rules;
  • collaborate during security checks;
  • have documents and boarding passes ready for checks;
  • respect other passengers in the waiting areas, using earphones and keeping common areas clean;
  • wait for their turn during boarding;
  • maintain correct behavior even on airport shuttles;
  • always follow the crew's instructions during the flight and remain seated until permission to disembark;
  • correctly declare any goods subject to customs controls;
  • respect other Travellers even when collecting luggage.

A campaign also present in airports

F-Air Play doesn't just live online. ENAC has planned a widespread dissemination of the campaign through brochures distributed at airports, videos broadcast on airport monitors and digital content on its institutional channels, with the support of Assaeroporti, Aeroporti 2030 and Italian airport managers. The goal is to accompany passengers throughout the journey, especially during periods of increased air traffic, remembering that safety, respect and collaboration are shared responsibilities.

Where to find materials

All the contents of the campaign are available on the dedicated ENAC portal, where it is possible to consult:

  • the complete F-Air Play brochure;
  • the decalogue of the responsible passenger;
  • informative videos;
  • brochures and thematic insights updated periodically;
  • content dedicated to the different moments of the journey and correct behaviour at the airport and on board.

With F-Air Play, ENAC aims to transform a simple information campaign into an awareness path aimed at all Travellers, remembering that respect for rules and people is an integral part of the flight experience and contributes to making every journey safer, more efficient and serene.
