Frecciarossa arrives at Malpensa for the 2026 Games

In view of the 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Trenitalia and Busitalia (FS Group) have expanded their offer with the debut of the Frecciarossa at Milan Malpensa and a major strengthening of rail and intermodal connections dedicated to the tourist, sporting and organizational flows of the event.

 

The entire mobility system has been enhanced to ensure more frequent and widespread connections to the areas involved in the competitions, thanks to extraordinary high-speed services, an extended plan of the Regional and new integrated train+bus solutions, designed to facilitate the movement of both spectators and athletes.

Frecciarossa to Malpensa and FrecciaLink to the Dolomites

From 7 February to 15 March 2026, on weekends, the Frecciarossa will reach Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP) with direct trips between Milan and Venice/Udine.
• From Malpensa T2 at 11:37 am, the train will arrive at Venezia Santa Lucia at 3:12 pm, with intermediate stops at Malpensa T1, Milano Centrale, Brescia, Desenzano, Verona, Vicenza, Padua and Mestre.
• The Frecciarossa from Udine at 6:15 a.m. will reach Malpensa T2 at 11:22 a.m., with stops in Pordenone, Conegliano, Treviso, Venice Mestre, Padua, Vicenza, Verona, Desenzano, Brescia and Milan Central.

 

From 31 January to 16 March, FrecciaLink services will ensure daily connections to Cortina d'Ampezzo, Cadore, Tesero and Predazzo.
Travellers can reach Venice Mestre by Frecciarossa and continue by bus, or get off at Ora (Bolzano) and reach Val di Fiemme with dedicated buses, including the new Tesero stop.

 

Enhanced regional for Olympic areas

Trenitalia has expanded the offer of the Regional to the Belluno area, the main gateway to Cortina.
• On the Venice-Belluno route, 39 daily trips.
• On the Padua-Belluno route, 40 trips a day.
The enhancement also concerns the Treviso-Montebelluna and Belluno-Calalzo lines.
In collaboration with Dolomitibus, the Cortina 2026 Link, the combined train+bus ticket from Ponte nelle Alpi, is introduced.

Busitalia: more services to Cortina, Livigno and the airports

Busitalia has activated daily connections to Cortina d'Ampezzo and Livigno from the Padua and Milan high-speed stations, with additional connections from the airports of Milan Bergamo Airport (BGY) and Venice Marco Polo (VCE).

Among the main services:
Padua-Cortina Link, with stops in Ponte nelle Alpi, Longarone, Tai and San Vito di Cadore.
Milan-Livigno, the only direct connection between Milan Central Station and Alta Valtellina (Bormio, Valdidentro, Livigno), operating every day with morning runs and return in the afternoon.
Orio al Serio Airlink, with 24 daily trips even at night.
Padua-Venice Marco Polo connections, 54 trips per day.

 

 

Mobility dedicated to athletes

During the Games, about 50 charter trains and over 400 buses per day were set up for athletes, teams and accredited personnel, along with 50,000 reserved seats on high-speed trains on the most affected routes, in particular Milan-Venice and Milan-Trento.
