Swiss Air Rail arrives in Grindelwald

Integrated train-air connection to the Bernese Oberland in the Jungfrau region, one of the most sought-after Alpine areas in Switzerland

Swiss International Air Lines is expanding its SWISS Air Rail network to include Grindelwald in the heart of the Bernese Oberland. Following the integration of Interlaken in December 2022, the extension is made possible through a partnership with Jungfrau Railways, which operate the rail link between Interlaken and Grindelwald.

The new service is available immediately: tickets to Grindelwald can be purchased from 26 March on the airline's website and from travel agencies.

With this novelty, the SWISS Air Rail network reaches 25 destinations in Switzerland, Germany and Austria, strengthening multimodal access to the main Alpine tourist areas.

Grindelwald and the Jungfrau area are one of Switzerland's most iconic destinations, with a strong international appeal. Thanks to train-air integration, passengers arriving on SWISS long-haul flights can continue their journey to the Bernese Oberland with a single booking, combining flight and train in a coordinated manner.

The collaboration with Jungfrau Railways also facilitates access to the Jungfraujoch, one of the most visited destinations in the country.
