Valtellina: where to picnic among meadows, streams and alpine views
Valtellina celebrates International Picnic Day, scheduled for 18 June, with a selection of ten ideal places for a break in nature. The picnic thus returns to the protagonist of summer as a slow and convivial ritual: a blanket on the grass, local products to share and a few hours of relaxation among the alpine landscapes. In Valtellina, the experience is also enriched by a message of sustainability: bringing waste back to the valley and respecting the environment is the first gesture to preserve the beauty of these places.
Among the most scenic destinations is the Acquafraggia Waterfall Park, in Piuro, in Valchiavenna. At the foot of the waterfalls, a large lawn allows you to relax between the green of the valley and the sound of the water, with the possibility of cooling off in the stream during the hottest days.
In Madesimo, the Andossi Plateau offers open spaces, pastures and views of the peaks of Pizzo Tambò, Pizzo Ferré and Pizzo Groppera. It is a proposal suitable for those who want to combine a picnic with a walk or a mountain bike itinerary.
