Curated by the Director of the GNAM, Renata Cristina Mazzantini, and the scholar Luca Massimo Barbero, the exhibition explores the artistic ferment of an unrepeatable period of Italian history, highlighting the 21 most representative artists who have shaped the national and international art scene. Among these, names such as Lucio Fontana, Alberto Burri, Mimmo Rotella, Pino Pascali and many others stand out.

A central aspect of the exhibition is the direct comparison between works by Fontana and Burri, two key figures of the post-war art movement, whose dialogue is presented through 11 emblematic works. Other unpublished comparisons include those between Afro, Piero Dorazio and the works of Mimmo Rotella.
