Brescia between great exhibitions, art and entertainment

From the Bicentenary of the Winged Victory to the project of the new Roman Theater, passing through international photography, open-air cinema, experiences in museums and appointments in the Castle, the cultural season develops between heritage, contemporaneity and new opportunities for visits

Major exhibitions, international photography, archaeology, cinema and new visitor experiences make up a broad and widespread cultural season, designed to enhance Brescia's heritage and offer the public new opportunities to discover the city's symbolic places. The program brings together museums, the Castle and New Eden with a calendar that combines memory, innovation and participation.

At the center of the program is the Bicentenary of the discovery of the Winged Victory, an anniversary that marks one of the most important moments in the city's cultural history. The celebrations will culminate on 20 July, the anniversary of the discovery of the bronze deposit of the Capitolium, and will be accompanied by exhibitions, meetings and initiatives dedicated to the archaeological heritage.

Among the most significant events are the installation of Francesco Vezzoli's metaphysical Nike in the Viridarium of the Santa Giulia Museum, the exhibition "The Victory of Brescia. 40 photographers and an eternal beauty" scheduled for July and the great autumn exhibition "We are the strength of the past. 1826-2026: 200 years, 200 stories", dedicated to the two centuries of civic collections.

Another strategic axis concerns the Roman Theater, the protagonist of a new phase of the recovery and enhancement process. In fact, during the year the process that will lead to the definition of the Technical-Economic Feasibility Project will continue, a fundamental step for the construction of the new "stone theater" and for the future development of the archaeological area

Among the major events, international photography also stands out with Bruce Gilden, the protagonist of an unprecedented project between the Santa Giulia Museum and the Tosio Martinengo Art Gallery as part of the Brescia Photo Festival. In June it will be the turn of Franca Ghitti, a new stage of Archaeological Stages, while among the important exhibitions there is also the one dedicated to Giuseppe Zanardelli on the bicentenary of his birth.

The program also includes new entries in the collections, permanent rearrangements, the online publication of the first 1,000 cards of the digital catalog of the Civic Museums, inclusive experiences of Museum for All, cinema under the stars in the Viridarium, the return of La Nueva Ola to the New Eden and summer and autumn events in the Castle, from We Love Castello to the Mysteria Light Festival

What emerges is a rich and articulated cultural proposal, capable of transforming heritage into a contemporary and widespread experience, including major events, new narratives and opportunities to visit aimed at different audiences.
