Winter magic at Munich Airport
For the twenty-fifth time, Munich Airport is dressed in magic: from November 14 to December 28, 2025, the Munich Airport Center (MAC) hosts its traditional Christmas and winter market, a real festive oasis where Travellers, visitors and airport staff can relax and be enchanted by the Christmas atmosphere.
Amid ornate pine trees, twinkling lights and the scent of mulled wine and roasted almonds, more than 40 wooden houses offer local crafts, gift ideas and Bavarian cuisine. The beating heart of the village is the 600-square-meter ice skating rink, where you can also try your hand at curling, upon online reservation.
The programme includes numerous activities for young and old: creative workshops to make Advent wreaths and Christmas decorations, magic shows, face painting and soap bubble performances. The presence of Santa Claus is not to be missed, who will stop at the market on November 27, December 6 and 19 distributing sweets to the little ones.
Among the novelties of this year stands out the "Wish Tree" initiative (6-7 December): a tree of wishes with cards written by children from charities, whose dreams can be realized by visitors by purchasing and delivering gifts to the "Elk Hut" by December 18.
Every evening, live concerts with regional artists and bands - from rock to pop, from gospel to folk - will make the atmosphere even more festive. In addition, visitors will be able to participate in the evocative Christmas Light Tours, 50-minute evening tours to admire the airport's sea of lights (bookable only online).
The Christmas market at Munich Airport is open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM (closing at 4:00 PM on Christmas Eve). Admission is free, as is parking for up to an hour (reduced rates for up to three hours).
