Verona airport exceeds 4 million passengers
Verona Villafranca Airport reaches a historic milestone, exceeding 4 million passengers for the first time since the beginning of the year. A result that confirms the solidity of the growth path of the Verona airport and strengthens its positioning as a reference hub for tourist and leisure traffic in Northern Italy.
Symbolically marking this milestone was a passenger departing on an Air France flight to Paris, with intercontinental continuation to Seoul, testifying to the growing international vocation of the airport and the strategic role of the European hubs connected to Verona.
Growth above the national average
The 2025 result comes after a path of constant traffic development. After closing 2024 with 3.7 million passengers, the Verona airport records a significant increase that brings annual growth to around 9%, higher than the national average. A trend that reflects solid demand and a targeted development strategy.
The protagonist of the day was Cristiana Cassinari, passenger number 4,000,000, departing for Seoul via Paris with Air France awarded with an Air France return ticket Verona-Paris and, on behalf of the Catullo Company, a package of exclusive services that include ten free parking spaces at the airport and ten accesses to the fast track priority lane at the security checkpoints for his next year's trips from Verona airport.

An increasingly articulated network
At the basis of this growth there is a close collaboration with the airlines, today about 30, which connect Verona with over 90 destinations. Among the leading carriers are Neos, which intercepts medium and long-haul demand, Volotea (historically rooted in the airport) and Air Dolomiti, essential for connections to the hubs of Frankfurt and Munich.
A significant contribution also comes from indirect long-haul, thanks to the annual connection with Paris that allows access to Air France's entire intercontinental network. The role of low-cost and leisure carriers such as Ryanair, Wizz Air and easyJet is also important, expanding their offer to numerous European cities.
What's new in 2026
2026 opens with particularly positive prospects. Among the new routes, the connection with Casablanca operated by Royal Air Maroc stands out, which opens up new opportunities for connection to the African continent. Volotea also strengthens its presence with the return of the flight to Comiso and the introduction of the new route to Aalborg, Denmark, starting from the next spring season.
Infrastructure and major events
Traffic growth is matched by a major terminal renewal plan, with work underway intended to improve the passenger experience and operational efficiency. The interventions will be completed in time for the Milan Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, an event that will see Verona play a key role in the management of tourist flows.
An increasingly central airport
The exceeding of 4 million passengers represents much more than a numerical figure: it is the confirmation of an integrated development vision, based on connectivity, quality of services and enhancement of the territory. Verona airport is thus preparing to face 2026 with an even wider network of connections and a growing centrality in the Italian airport landscape.
