Forlì-Tbilisi flight confirmed for the winter season
Georgian Airways, the flag carrier of Georgia, has announced the continuation of flights between Tbilisi and Forlì also for the Winter Season, confirming its commitment to consolidate its presence on the Italian market.
After the inauguration of Georgian Airways' connections last April, the decision testifies to the carrier's desire to strengthen Tbilisi's link with Romagna, promoting both tourist flows and economic and business relations between Italy and Georgia.
The announcement comes at a time of innovation for Forlì's "Luigi Ridolfi" airport, where the new European EES (Entry-Exit System) is being implemented, which is expected to be fully implemented in the European Union by 9 April 2026.
The EES system was created with the aim of modernising border controls, making them faster, safer and more efficient for non-EU Travellers staying up to 90 days.
In addition to combating irregular immigration, it will allow for accurate tracking of entry, exit and refusal of entry, improving the internal security of the Schengen area. Thanks to the use of biometric data, the system will help prevent identity and document fraud, supporting European authorities in investigating terrorism and serious crimes.
