The new direct flight from Rome Fiumicino to Seoul is operated by T'way Air, a low-cost airline based in South Korea
South Korea-based low-cost airline T'way Air has launched new direct flights between Rome and Seoul, enhancing travel options between Korea and Europe for both business and leisure travelers. The first direct flight from Rome Fiumicino Airport to Seoul took off on August 8, 2024.
The company will operate three weekly flights from Rome to Seoul, every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, connecting the "Leonardo da Vinci" airport of Fiumicino with the international airport of Incheon. The flight will depart Rome at 9:15 pm, arriving in Seoul at 4:10 pm the following day. The return flight will take off from Korea at 12:35 p.m., landing in Rome at 7:15 p.m. The flights will be operated with Airbus A330-200, which offer 246 seats, including 18 in business saver class. Both business and economy class passengers will enjoy two complimentary meals during the one-way journey.
As specified by Ivan Bassato, Chief Aviation Officer of Aeroporti di Roma, "Seoul represents one of the most important intercontinental markets in the Far East for Rome, with traffic growth in the first 7 months of 2024 standing at +24% compared to last year".
Last May, T'way Air inaugurated its first flight to Europe with a route to Zagreb, Croatia, and on August 28 it will open the connection between Paris and Seoul. The airline plans to further expand its network by adding new destinations, such as Barcelona and Frankfurt, in the second half of this year.
