Wizz Air strengthens Malpensa with 12th based aircraft and three new routes
Wizz Air further strengthens its presence at Milan Malpensa Airport. From mid-December 2026, the company will increase the number of aircraft based at the airport to 12, adding an Airbus A321neo and increasing the capacity available on domestic and international routes.
The investment will open three new direct connections to Berlin, Cagliari and Tromsø, which are already available for booking.
The new routes from Milan Malpensa
The connection to Berlin will start on December 14, 2026 and will be operated every day, with fares starting from 24.99 euros.
Also from 14 December, the route to Cagliari will debut, served with two daily flights and prices starting from 19.99 euros.
From 15 December 2026, it will be possible to fly directly to Tromsø in northern Norway every Tuesday and Saturday. Rates will start at 39.99 euros.
A network of 55 routes
With the new destinations, Wizz Air will increase to 55 routes from Milan to 24 countries. The expansion follows the recent expansion of the base and the opening of connections to the destinations of Agadir, Lamezia Terme, Porto, Santander and Zaragoza.
Wizz Air is currently the third carrier at Milan Malpensa airport in terms of market share, equal to 14%. The arrival of the twelfth Airbus A321neo is expected to generate 40 new direct jobs and support over 350 indirect jobs in the airport supply chain and related services. The new aircraft also offers greater operational efficiency, lower emissions and reduced noise compared to previous generations.
