Ryanair changes the timing for the delivery of checked baggage
Ryanair changes the timing for the delivery of checked baggage at the airport. Starting from Tuesday 10 November, the bag drop counters will close 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time, instead of 40 minutes before as is currently the case.
The novelty concerns passengers who have to check in baggage in the hold, who will therefore have to arrive at the airport earlier and complete the delivery within the new limit.
According to Ryanair, the change affects about 20% of passengers, i.e. the share of Travellers who use the baggage delivery service at the airport. The company's stated goal is to give passengers more time to deal with any queues at security and passport control and reach the gate before boarding begins, especially during busy periods.
No change for those traveling without checked baggage
For the remaining 80% of Ryanair passengers, who check in online and do not have to drop off checked baggage, nothing changes. These Travellers will be able to continue to go directly to the security checks and then to the departure gate, naturally respecting the normal boarding times.
For those traveling with checked luggage, from 10 November it will therefore be necessary to consider the new limit of 60 minutes before departure as the deadline to complete the bag drop.
