Wizz Air launches new routes from Catania
Wizz Air is expanding its base at Catania Fontanarossa Airport with four new routes to Rome Fiumicino, Valencia, Alicante and Porto. The connections will be activated between October and December 2026 and will be supported by the arrival of the fourth aircraft based in the Sicilian airport, an Airbus A321neo, a new generation model designed to offer greater comfort on board, less noise and a reduction in emissions compared to previous generation aircraft.
The new Wizz Air routes from Catania
The Catania-Rome Fiumicino connection will depart on 14 December 2026 and will be operated with three flights a day, for a total of 21 weekly frequencies.
The Catania-Valencia route will be active from 14 December 2026 with 4 weekly frequencies, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
The new Catania-Alicante flight will depart on December 15, 2026 with 3 weekly frequencies, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
The Catania-Porto connection will be inaugurated on 27 October 2026 with 2 weekly frequencies, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
With the arrival of the four new routes, Wizz Air will offer the widest network ever from Catania : 23 routes to 13 countries, connecting Sicily with destinations in Italy, Europe and beyond.
From the capital of Etna, passengers will be able to fly to Italian cities such as Bologna, Turin, Milan and Rome, but also to international destinations such as Tirana, Vilnius, Budapest, Tel Aviv, Bucharest, Warsaw, Sharm el-Sheikh, Valencia, Alicante and Porto.
