Wizz Air confirms Bologna-Palermo flight also for winter

Wizz Air strengthens its offer from Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport by confirming for the 2026/2027 winter season the direct connection to Palermo, inaugurated on 1 August 2026. The route is operated up to 11 times a week with Airbus A321neo.

The confirmation of the Bologna-Palermo flight allows passengers in Emilia-Romagna to continue to have a direct connection with Sicily even beyond the summer season, with a high frequency that can be useful both for leisure travel and for travel related to work, study and visits to family and friends.

Wizz Air and Bologna Airport also renewed their collaboration agreement during a meeting in Budapest between the top management of the two companies. The parties confirmed their intention to evaluate possible new destinations and further growth opportunities.

Wizz Air is now the second carrier of Bologna Airport (BLQ), with a market share of 11.5%. Since the start of operations in 2008 it has carried over 8.5 million passengers to and from Bologna.
