Volotea reopens the Ancona-Palermo route
Volotea reactivates the direct flight between Ancona and Palermo, bringing back to the winter schedule a route already operated in the past and designed to strengthen mobility between central Italy and Sicily. Tickets are already on sale and flights will depart from November 6, 2026, with two weekly frequencies, every Monday and Friday.
The resumption of the route confirms the company's focus on direct connections between medium-sized cities and territories with a high tourist vocation. The Ancona-Palermo flight responds to the needs of both leisure passengers and those traveling for family or professional reasons, offering a new opportunity to travel even outside the summer season.
For Travellers departing from the Marche region, the connection allows you to easily reach Palermo, one of the most fascinating destinations in Southern Italy, among historical heritage, markets, Arab-Norman architecture, sea and gastronomy. At the same time, Sicilian passengers will be able to arrive directly in Ancona and discover the Marche, a region that combines villages, hills, Adriatic beaches, art and food and wine traditions.
The reactivation of the flight also takes on a strategic value for the Marche region, in view of the path that will lead to Ancona 2028 Italian Capital of Culture. The connection between Sicily and the central Adriatic expands the possibilities of access to the region and helps to support tourist flows, cultural exchanges and economic relations between the two territories.
With the return of the route to Palermo, the number of Volotea connections departing from Ancona rises to six. The company will operate three domestic routes to Catania, Olbia and Palermo, one route to France to Paris (Orly) and two connections to Spain, to Barcelona and Madrid.
