Volotea awarded as "Europe's Leading Low-Cost Airline"
Volotea, a low-cost airline that connects small and medium-sized European destinations, has been awarded for the fourth year as "Europe's Leading Low-Cost Airline" at the 32nd edition of the World Travel Awards during the ceremony held in Cagliari in Sardinia, a strategic region for the carrier's network, where the company continues to invest to ensure widespread and quality connectivity.
The award is the result of a constant investment in improving the flight experience: leaner airport processes, increasingly accurate on-board services and a strong attention to comfort and details, even in the low-cost segment, such as more space between seats, reclining seats and a pleasant environment thanks to music, lighting and cleanliness. The management of check-in and boarding and the customer attention shown by the ground and flight staff are particularly appreciated.
According to the most recent data, Volotea is confirmed as one of the most popular airlines in Europe, thanks to a Net Promoter Score (NPS) - the indicator used internationally to measure customer satisfaction and loyalty - of 46.9 points at the network level (YTD data - September 2025), up 35.2% compared to the same period in 2024. In Italy, in the first nine months of the year, the NPS reached 50.5 points (+14.4 points vs 2024), while among customers enrolled in the Megavolotea loyalty program, it was close to 58.9 points (+12 points vs 2024), confirming the trust and quality perceived by passengers. Volotea now aims to close 2025 approaching the milestone of 50 NPS points, an ambitious goal that would represent a further step forward in the growth path oriented towards passenger satisfaction.
The World Travel Awards are recognized globally as one of the most prestigious awards ceremonies in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry, with the aim of highlighting the most outstanding achievements and best practices from the entire industry. The winners are chosen through an online voting process involving experts in the tourism industry, including travel agencies, tour operators and international organizations, and the general public. In particular, Volotea stood out this year among a shortlist of 8 finalist airlines from all over Europe.
