New Ryanair flights from Trapani take off
Ryanair accelerates the development of western Sicily and announces that the new 2025/2026 winter routes from Trapani-Marsala are fully operational. The first flights of 2026 took off as early as this week, significantly expanding the airport's connectivity with Italy and Europe.
From Trapani Birgi Airport, Ryanair operates two weekly frequencies to Brussels Charleroi, Katowice and Bratislava, while connections with Baden-Baden and Pescara rise to three flights a week. An offer designed to guarantee regular connections all year round, with greater flexibility for Sicilian passengers.
The launch of the new routes is part of a broader investment plan that includes, from January 2026, the opening of a new Ryanair base in Trapani, with two aircraft based (one already in the winter season and two in summer 2026). The total estimated investment is 200 million dollars, with a capacity of more than 1 million passengers per year and support for over 800 local jobs.
A key role has been played by the Sicilian Region, which has decided to abolish the municipal surcharge in the island's minor airports. Thanks to this measure, Trapani-Marsala becomes Ryanair's third base in Sicily and the twentieth in Italy, strengthening international accessibility and supporting incoming tourism throughout the year.
Satisfaction also on the part of Airgest, the management company of Trapani airport, which underlines how the return of the Ryanair base after eight years marks a new phase of growth. Estimates indicate a 33% increase in passengers compared to 2024 and +22% in the summer season compared to 2025, with direct benefits for the economy and the territory.
