More frequencies to Paris and Barcelona from Verona with Volotea
The carrier consolidates Verona as a strategic base, where in 2024 it achieved about 20% of the total traffic of Catullo airport, an increase of 18% compared to the previous year
Volotea confirms its commitment to Verona with an expansion of its operations for 2025. From April, flights to Paris (Orly) will become daily, while flights to Barcelona will be increased to five weekly frequencies: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The expansion strengthens the strategic ties between Verona and two of Europe's top destinations, fostering international tourism and expanding travel opportunities for local residents.
With an operational base of two aircraft at Verona airport, Volotea will offer a total of 14 routes to five countries in 2025: Italy, Spain, Greece, France and Germany. This development plan underlines the importance of the Verona market for the carrier, which since 2015 has constantly invested to improve connectivity and support the economic and tourist growth of the area.
2024 represented a year of strong growth for Volotea in Verona, with exceptional results both in terms of passenger traffic and operations. The company carried around 700,000 travellers, an increase of 18% from 593,000 in 2023, and carried out 4,283 flights, up 21%. In addition, Volotea has strengthened its local presence, employing over 90 employees in the Verona base.
The excellence of the service offered is reflected in the results obtained: the Net Promoter Score (NPS), the customer satisfaction indicator, reached a value of 48.9 in Verona, the highest among all the company's Italian bases. Punctuality has also seen a significant improvement, with an OTP15 (punctuality within 15 minutes) of 79% in 2024.
In addition to the numbers, Volotea stands out for its commitment to promoting the cultural heritage of the region. Through the #Volotea4Veneto project, the company has financed the restoration of over 30 terracotta sketches from the Gypsotheca Museo Antonio Canova in Possagno. In 2024, he strengthened his bond with the local community by becoming an official sponsor of the Camploy Theater for the 2024/2025 theater season, demonstrating his role as an active promoter of Veronese culture. With a strategy that combines operational growth and attention to the territory, Volotea confirms itself as a key partner for the tourism and cultural development of Verona and its province.
