Rome-Hong Kong: Cathay Pacific increases flights in the summer

Four weekly frequencies (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday) from Fiumicino to Asia-Pacific with Airbus A350

Hong Kong's flag carrier, Cathay Pacific, is enhancing direct flights between Rome Fiumicino and Hong Kong for the 2026 summer season, bringing the schedule to four weekly flights. The new frequency strengthens the ties between Italy and Asia-Pacific and responds to the growing demand for leisure and business travel on one of the most strategic long-haul routes.

Operational and period
From 30 March to 24 October 2026, flights will be active at Rome Fiumicino Airport on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, expanding flexibility for those departing from Italy and for Asian travellers heading to Rome. The increase consolidates the carrier's presence on the Italian market, where the company already operates direct flights to Hong Kong also from Milan Malpensa.

Fast connections via Hong Kong
Thanks to the Hong Kong hub, passengers departing from Rome can easily continue to numerous destinations in the Asia-Pacific area. At the same time, the direct connection facilitates arrival in Italy for those flying from Asia, with Rome as the ideal gateway to the country's cultural, artistic and food and wine heritage.

Comfort on board
Cathay Pacific's route is operated with the latest generation Airbus A350-900, with:

  • Business Class full flat bed and direct aisle access
  • Premium Economy with wide seats and more legroom
  • Ergonomic, award-winning Economy Class
  • All cabins offer Wi-Fi, advanced onboard entertainment and attentive food service.
