Rome to Seattle with Delta
The first Delta Air Lines flight from Rome Fiumicino to Seattle departed this morning, inaugurating a new direct connection between the Italian capital and the West Coast of the United States. The route will be operated four times a week with a latest-generation Airbus A330-900neo.
With the opening of Seattle, the number of destinations served by Delta from Rome Fiumicino, which already connects with New York-JFK, Atlanta, Boston, Detroit and Minneapolis, rises to six. For passengers departing from Italy, the new flight thus offers additional direct access to the Pacific Northwest, making it easier to reach one of the most dynamic areas of the American West Coast.
The connection is part of an increasingly extensive Delta network from Rome. According to Aeroporti di Roma, the company is confirmed as the main long-haul international carrier at Fiumicino airport, with about one million passengers transported in 2025. During the summer peak, Delta will connect up to six U.S. destinations from Rome, with up to eight daily departures, helping to further strengthen the hub's connectivity to North America.
The new flight is also part of Delta's broader development over Seattle, an airport in which the airline has invested significantly over the past decade. In those years, Delta has launched flights to 28 new markets from Seattle and now operates up to 180 daily connections to more than 60 global destinations. From Seattle Airport (SEA), customers can also continue their journey through Delta's global alliances to other destinations in Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Recent investments in Seattle include a new Delta One Lounge, a new Delta Sky Club and the enhancement of the premium airport experience from arrival to boarding. On the sustainability front, Delta also points out that at Seattle Airport, 87% of baggage vehicles, conveyor belts and aircraft towing vehicles are electric, as are 70% of ground equipment.
For Delta One customers transiting through Seattle, the new Delta One Lounge, located on the top floor of Concourse A, is available. The space offers a terrace with views of Mount Rainier, chef-curated dining options, spa-style showers and environments designed for relaxation before your flight.
On board the Airbus A330-900neo, Delta is committed to a premium travel experience. In Delta One Suite, customers find lie-flat sleepers with privacy doors, direct aisle access, dedicated menus and a selection of premium labels. Thanks to the partnership with Missoni, an exclusive Delta One collection is also available on board that includes Missoni bedding, a new amenity kit, navy blue slippers and a memory foam mattress topper.
In Delta Premium Select, comfort is provided by wider seats, adjustable footrests and legrests, a dedicated menu and an amenity kit designed to make long-haul more comfortable.
In all cabins, customers can enjoy a curated selection of food and beverages, access to Delta Studio's program with more than 1,000 hours of entertainment, and free, fast Wi-Fi operated by T-Mobile, available on all transatlantic flights.
For summer 2026, Delta's flight between Rome and Seattle, operated in partnership with European partner Air France KLM, follows this schedule:

- DL42: departure from Seattle at 1:55 pm, arrival in Rome at 10:10 am the following day, operating Wednesday, Friday, Sunday and Monday.
More generally, during the summer of 2026 Delta will operate the largest network ever between Italy and the United States, operating up to 19 flights per day. From Rome Fiumicino it will fly to New York JFK, Atlanta, Boston, Detroit, Minneapolis and Seattle; from Milan (Malpensa) to New York JFK, Atlanta and Boston; from Venice and Naples to New York JFK and Atlanta; from Catania and Olbia to New York JFK.
