Lufthansa Group expands winter route network
From Berlin, flights to Geneva with Swiss and to Dubai and Jeddah with Eurowings
With a new direct flight to Geneva, the Lufthansa Group is improving connectivity with Berlin Brandenburg Airport BER. From 28 October, SWISS will operate daily flights from Berlin to Geneva.
Eurowings has also steadily strengthened its position in Berlin in 2024. In the last six months alone, the Lufthansa Group company has increased its services from Berlin to a total of 30 destinations in Europe and the Gulf region. Passenger volume has more than doubled compared to the pre-pandemic period. In the coming winter, Eurowings will offer the direct flight Berlin - Dubai, increasing the frequency from four weekly flights to one daily connection from October 2024.
This increase includes the addition of an additional Eurowings aircraft based in Berlin, bringing the total number of aircraft from six to seven. In addition, Eurowings will introduce a new route to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with three weekly flights from Berlin during the winter. Germany's largest leisure airline also plans to further expand its route network from Berlin in 2025.
The Lufthansa Group is the market leader in Berlin. The Group's airlines – Austrian, Brussels, Eurowings, Lufthansa and SWISS – currently operate around 27% of all flights from Berlin Brandenburg. With around 500 weekly flights, the Lufthansa Group connects the capital region to 36 direct destinations. With just one connection, travelers from Berlin can reach over 300 destinations worldwide.
