Ita Airways inaugurates the Rome Fiumicino - Mauritius flight

For the 2025-2026 winter season, two weekly connections, on Fridays and Sundays, between Rome and the pearl of the Indian Ocean, operated with Airbus A330-900

ITA Airways' first direct flight to Mauritus' Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport (MRU) departs from Rome Fiumicino, an important milestone for the company that introduces two weekly connections between Rome and the pearl of the Indian Ocean, operated with Airbus A330-900.

The new Rome Fiumicino-Mauritius flight has the following schedule:

  • departure from Rome Fiumicino on Friday and Sunday at 22:00 with arrival in Mauritius at 11:20 the following day.
  • departure from Mauritius on Saturdays and Mondays at 22:10 and arrival in Rome Fiumicino 06:40 the following day.

This new route to Mauritius expands the intercontinental network of Fiumicino airport, which records long-haul growth rates of 25% compared to 2019 thanks to over 230 direct destinations and confirms its international vocation by supporting ITA Airways' growth in the most important global markets.

ITA Airways during the 2025-2026 winter season operates 53 destinations, including 16 domestic, 21 international and 16 intercontinental. Among the highlights of the winter season are the resumption of the Rome Fiumicino-Malé (Maldives) connection from 19 December 2025, with a daily frequency until 6 January, followed by three weekly flights (four in February) until Easter; the increase in frequencies to Bangkok (from five to seven weekly frequencies starting from 8 December 2025) and the increase in flights to Buenos Aires, with ten weekly frequencies between 16 December 2025 and 9 January 2026.

On Ita Airways intercontinental flights leaving Italy, including the new Rome Fiumicino - Mauritius route, Business Class passengers can enjoy the menu created by Michelin-starred chef Giancarlo Morelli.
