Iberia strengthens connections with North and South America

For winter 2025-26 new routes to Orlando, Recife, Fortaleza and more flights to New York, Boston, Washington, Santiago, Lima and Rio

Iberia has announced that in the 2025-2026 winter season (from October 26, 2025 to March 28, 2026) it will significantly strengthen continuity flights via Madrid to the Americas, introducing new routes and increasing frequencies to many strategic destinations.

New direct routes from Madrid to the Americas

  • Orlando (USA): new direct Madrid-Orlando route with four weekly frequencies, operated with Airbus A330 with 292 seats.
  • Recife (Brazil): from 13 December, with three flights per week.
  • Fortaleza (Brazil): direct connection begins from 19 January, again with three weekly frequencies, operated with the new A321XLR.

In addition to the new routes, Iberia is also enhancing frequencies on several existing routes with flights via Madrid:

Increase in frequencies to South America

  • Dominican Republic: The Madrid-Santo Domingo route will get up to four additional weekly flights, to reach two flights per day.
  • Puerto Rico (San Juan): Seven more weekly frequencies will be added, for a total of 14 weekly flights during the winter.
  • Rio de Janeiro: The frequency will increase to seven weekly flights in February, coinciding with Carnival.
  • Santiago de Chile: ten to twelve weekly frequencies.
  • Lima: reaches 14 weekly flights, one more than the previous winter.

Increased frequencies to North America

  • New York: one of the most popular markets, it will benefit from two flights a day throughout the winter season.
  • Boston: The Madrid-Boston connection doubles operations, also reaching two daily flights, operated with A321XLR.
  • Washington: consolidates itself as an annual destination, with three weekly flights during the winter.

Imagining a trip to the Americas with Iberia means having Madrid as a privileged starting point. The Spanish capital is not only a city full of history and charm, but also a strategic hub that connects Europe with an increasing number of overseas destinations.

Thanks to the arrival of new routes such as Orlando, in the heart of Florida, and Brazil's Recife and Fortaleza, passengers now have the opportunity to choose from an even wider range of destinations, planning tailor-made itineraries.

In addition, the use of the latest generation aircraft such as the A321XLR makes the on-board experience even more enjoyable: more comfort, greater efficiency and a quality of travel that accompanies you from take-off.
