Vegan innovation for an unparalleled travel experience
On the occasion of Veganuary, an initiative that promotes the benefits of a vegan diet, Emirates brought its chefs together at Emirates Flight Catering's Concept Development Kitchen to create new recipes and test the most innovative ingredients available on the market. Among the proposals experimented with a spicy shakshuka with egg substitute and vegan cannelloni made with sheets of vegan pasta.
The company offers a vegan menu consisting of over 300 recipes available on flights to 140 destinations. The ingredients, sourced from top-tier suppliers around the world, include plant-based protein from Beyond Meat (California), tofu from Qian Ye (Japan), vegan chocolate from Linnolat (France) and almond milk from Koita (Italy). Emirates also promotes sustainability through its partnership with Bustanica, the world's largest hydroponic vertical farm , which supplies fresh pesticide-free vegetables directly to the company's catering centres.

Vegan meals for all needs, including the little ones
To cater to all travellers, Emirates has introduced vegan meals specifically for children, with tasty and balanced dishes such as vegan pizza, sweet and sour vegetable casserole, vegan muffins and cauliflower nuggets. These meals are available by reservation up to 24 hours before departure on all flights and in all classes. On routes with higher demand, vegan dishes are included directly in the main menu, making them easily accessible to all passengers.
