Emirates launches third daily flight to Mauritius
The decision confirms the airline's commitment to supporting the development of tourism to the Indian Ocean island, expanding travel opportunities for passengers from more than 140 destinations across Emirates' global network.
The new service to Mauritius, operated with a three-class Boeing 777-300ER , will join the existing two daily flights operated with Airbus A380s, offering an increase in capacity on the route of more than 30%. The flights will be operated in codeshare with Air Mauritius, a strategic partner of the Emirati company since 2003, and will guarantee convenient and continuous connections also to and from key markets such as the Middle East, Europe, the Americas and East Asia.
The new EK709 service will depart Dubai at 06:55 and arrive in Mauritius at 13:40, while the return flight EK710 will take off from Mauritius at 18:30 and arrive in Dubai at 01:10 the following day. Passengers will be able to choose between First Class, Business Class and Economy Class cabins.
Since the launch of flights to Mauritius in 2002, Emirates has carried more than 8.8 million passengers and more than 126,000 tonnes of cargo. Thanks to the active collaboration with Air Mauritius and the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority, Emirates has been able to strengthen the international visibility of the destination, contributing significantly to its tourist attractiveness.
With 14 weekly flights currently operated by A380 and a weekly capacity of more than 15,000 seats, Emirates is now the only airline to offer connections to Mauritius with the famous double-decker aircraft and the only one to guarantee the First Class flight experience on the route.
