Emirates launches MIRA advanced virtual training
Cabin crew uses the immersive platform to complete safety training, ensuring an optimal and safe experience for travelers
Emirates announces the extension of its immersive virtual training platform MIRA, focusing on the airline's number one priority: safety. Emirates' 23,000 flight attendants, who are responsible for the safety of millions of passengers each year, will be able to complete their Safety and Emergency Procedures (SEP) training through MIRA. This innovative solution not only meets regulatory requirements, but also offers a state-of-the-art training methodology.
The MIRA platform realistically simulates the interiors of Boeing 777, Airbus A380 and Airbus A350, including emergency slides, airlifts and various water and land environments. Thanks to hyper-realistic images and sounds, crew members will be able to train in emergency scenarios with maximum precision, interacting with avatars in multiplayer mode that simulate real emergency situations.

Emirates' iconic cabin crew is known for their superior hospitality, but their primary mission is to ensure the safety of passengers. The new SEP training on MIRA complements the current programme, starting with key modules such as aircraft door operations and on-board fire management. Opening and closing aircraft doors correctly is crucial to avoid damage or injury.
Emirates mandates annual SEP training for all crew, who will now be able to practice virtually to perfect these key procedures. In addition, staff will simulate fire scenarios in glove compartments, ovens and bathrooms, using virtual fire extinguishers to learn how to handle any emergency.
The use of MIRA not only simplifies training in secure virtual environments, but also reduces operational costs by enabling repeated training to ensure competence and safety. With this platform, Emirates crew will be able to enhance their capabilities anytime, anywhere, using both mobile and desktop devices, without having to physically access the aircraft.
