Check-in change for Swiss passengers in Zurich
From Tuesday, October 29 for approximately five months until spring 2025, following the airport's renovation work
From Tuesday, 29 October onwards, all Swiss International Air Lines Economy and Premium Economy Class customers departing from Zurich Airport will have to check in for their flight at Check-in 3 at the airport, as the usual Check-in 1 option will be temporarily unavailable. Check-in 3 is located in the underground shopping area of Zurich Airport, directly above the train station and close to the bus terminal.
The new arrangement will continue for approximately five months until spring 2025, as the airport replaces baggage conveyor belts in Terminal Check-in 1, a task that will temporarily limit the terminal's passenger handling capabilities. The work is part of the second (and final) phase of the renewal of the airport's baggage transport system and SWISS customers of all travel classes should be able to use Check-in 1 again from the end of March 2025.
In addition to Swiss, the temporary reorganisation of Zurich's check-in facilities will also affect customers of Swiss's sister company Edelweiss and other Lufthansa Group airlines operating services from Zurich.
Business and First Class travelers are not affected by these changes and can continue to check in for their flight at Airport Check-in 1. Also excluded from the new agreement are higher status customers, unaccompanied minors and travelers who wish to check in a pet for transportation in the hold, all of whose check-in counters will remain at Check-in 1. Travellers with reduced mobility can continue to use Check-in 1 or Check-in 3.
