Azimut and Assets Group bring 18 yachts to Maldives resorts
Azimut Yachts and Assets Group will bring a fleet of 18 yachts to the Maldives, destined for guests of the Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi and the Rosewood Ranfaru Maldives. The collaboration will start later this year and will be accompanied by the opening of a new Azimut Service Center in Malé, designed to guarantee direct assistance to the fleet.
The agreement includes private navigation within the experience of the two resorts, expanding the possibilities of moving between the islands and enjoying the territory from the sea. Of the 18 units planned, 15 will be yachts from Azimut's Magellano Series.
A fleet designed to experience the Maldives from the sea
The choice of the Magellano Series links the project to a type of yacht designed for comfortable cruising and extended stays on board. In the Maldives, where much of the travel experience takes place between islands, lagoons and atolls, the boats can become a natural extension of the stay, combining the resort's services with the possibility of moving privately by sea.
The project involves two high-end properties in the Assets Group portfolio. The Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is spread over three private islands and includes 118 villas including beach, reef and overwater accommodations. The resort can be reached in approximately 45 minutes from Malé International Airport (MLE).
The Rosewood Ranfaru Maldives, currently under development, will be built on a chain of private islands arranged around a lagoon and includes 117 villas.
A new Azimut service centre in Malé
To support the 18 units, an Azimut Service Center will be opened in Malé, which will offer technical and operational assistance directly in the archipelago. The structure will work with the shipyard's Italian team and with Azimut Yachts Maldives powered by Elite Yachts, Azimut's partner already present in the Middle East and now also active in the Maldives.
Resorts and yachting in the same travel ecosystem
For Azimut, the agreement also represents an evolution from the traditional relationship between shipyard and private owner. In this case, the yachts enter directly into the hospitality offer, becoming part of the services available during the stay. Assets Group expects that, with the introduction of the 18 units, it will come to manage what it calls the largest private fleet of luxury yachts in the Indian Ocean. The collaboration therefore brings the world of yachting into Maldivian hospitality in a more structured way: not only as an additional activity, but as a tool to connect resorts, islands and the sea within the same travel experience.
