Porsche expands the 911 range

With the arrival of the new 911 Carrera 4S, in coupé, convertible and Targa versions, the number of all-wheel drive variants of the 911 rises to six. On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the 911 Targa, the new 911 Targa 4S also makes its debut, joining the already present Targa 4 GTS

Porsche enriches the 911 range with the introduction of three new Carrera 4S versions - Coupé, Cabriolet and Targa - which are immediately below the GTS models in terms of performance and equipment. With these innovations, the all-wheel drive variants of the 911 rise to six, doubling the offer for those looking for maximum traction and driving pleasure in all conditions.

The new 911 Carrera 4S is equipped with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo 6-cylinder boxer engine with an output of 353 kW (480 hp), an increase of 30 hp compared to previous models. This is also thanks to the optimised intercooler system, inspired by the 911 Turbo. All variants are mated to the 8-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission. In particular, the 911 Carrera 4S Coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds (with Sport Chrono) and reaches a top speed of 308 km/h.

The Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system, which favours rear dynamics but transfers torque to the front if necessary, has been refined with a new gear ratio. The front differential is electromechanically regulated and water-cooled. As per tradition, the Targa is available exclusively with all-wheel drive.

60 years of the 911 Targa: the evolution of an icon
2025 marks the 60th anniversary of the birth of the 911 Targa, introduced in 1965 as a "safety cabriolet" to comply with US safety regulations. Its unique design, with anti-tilt bar and removable roof, has now become a symbol of open-air Porsche sportiness. Since 2014, the roof opens automatically in 19 seconds with a choreographic system that folds the rear window and raises the panels. The module is available in black, blue, red and brown. Today the Targa 4S joins the Targa 4 GTS, offering two different variants of the historic bodywork.
