Porsche 911 GT3 Bergsport: 100 examples inspired by the Alps
Porsche presents the 911 GT3 Bergsport, a new Market Edition developed by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur and limited to 100 units for customers in Italy, France, Austria and Switzerland. Based on the current Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring package, the version will be previewed on September 3, 2026 at the Arosa ClassicCar, the Swiss hillclimb race that takes place over a 7.3-kilometer route with 422 meters of elevation gain and 76 curves.
The Porsche 911 GT3 Bergsport was born as a contemporary interpretation of the historical relationship between the Stuttgart brand and the Alpine region. In fact, the mountains have accompanied Porsche history since the years in Gmünd, Austria, where the company's first sports cars were built, and the European uphill competitions that contributed to the development of the first racing models.
The goal of the new series is not to replicate a historic Porsche, however. The GT3 Bergsport uses the mechanics of the current 911 GT3 Touring and introduces a specific combination of colors, materials and equipment designed for driving on mountain passes.
510 hp naturally aspirated engine and six-speed manual gearbox
At the base remains the 4.0-liter six-cylinder naturally aspirated boxer engine of the Porsche 911 GT3, capable of developing 375 kW, equal to 510 hp, and 450 Nm of torque. The standard configuration uses the six-speed GT manual transmission, consistent with the more analog character of the Touring version. The PDK gearbox remains available as an alternative at no extra charge.
The GT3 Bergsport also adopts the Lightened Package, but with a specific choice for this version: instead of the magnesium wheels normally provided for by the package, forged aluminum wheels are used, considered more suitable for the stresses that can characterize mountain roads.
The equipment also includes the front axle lifting system, useful on ramps, steep slopes and uneven surfaces, while the 90-litre tank increases the range available on longer journeys.
Valleygreenmetallic: a shade developed for Bergsport
One of the most distinguishing elements of the limited series is the new Valleygreenmetallic colour, created through the Paint to Sample Plus programme. The shade combines green and earthy shades inspired by the Alpine landscape, while golden metallic particles change the perception of the surface according to the light.
The rims, on the other hand, adopt a combination of White Gold and Ceramic with a satin finish, combined with orange brake calipers. The same color returns in several details of the passenger compartment and recalls the "alpenglow", the particular warm light that can illuminate the peaks just before sunrise or after sunset.
Other exterior elements include darkened Matrix HD LED headlights and a checkered pattern on the front bonnet that recalls the Porsche 908 Bergspyder. A specific emblem on the bonnet depicts four Alpine peaks, one for each of the four countries in which the GT3 Bergsport is offered, graphically crossed by a winding road.
Interior with Valleygreen leather and dedicated details
The mountain theme continues in the cabin. The lightweight sports bucket seats with carbon fibre backrests are upholstered in Valleygreen leather, while orange stitching is carried over to the headrests, steering wheel, ignition switch, accelerator pedal and manual transmission scheme. On the doors and upper part of the dashboard, black and white stitching also forms stylised mountain-inspired profiles.
The GT3 Bergsport also retains a rear-seat configuration, which expands its use compared to an exclusively two-seater sports car. The Light Design Package, the BOSE Surround Sound audio system and a series of personalized details including a key, leather case and document holder coordinated with the car's colors complete the equipment.
Debut on September 3rd at the Arosa ClassicCar
The first public appearance of the Porsche 911 GT3 Bergsport is scheduled for September 3, 2026 during the Arosa ClassicCar in Switzerland. For the occasion, Porsche ambassador and former works driver Jörg Bergmeister will drive the car along the hillclimb route, which is characterized by a particularly intense succession of curves and elevation changes.
With just 100 units destined for four European markets, the 911 GT3 Bergsport is also part of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur's growing strategy for small series and highly customised configurations, aimed primarily at customers and collectors looking for rarer versions of the 911.
