Phantom Goldfinger enchants at Villa d'Este
In one of the most refined and scenic settings on the world automotive scene, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars celebrated the centenary of its most legendary creation: the Phantom, at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. For the occasion, it unveiled the world premiere of the spectacular Phantom Goldfinger, a one-of-one masterpiece commissioned by a private collector as a tribute to the famous 1964 James Bond film.
Presented on the iconic mosaic lawn of the Grand Hotel Villa d'Este, overlooking Lake Como, the Phantom Goldfinger stands out for its refined cinematographic references and insertions in 18 and 24 carat gold, in homage to the saga's villain of the same name, Auric Goldfinger. The car is inspired by the 1937 Phantom III Sedanca de Ville, which belonged to the character in the film and was also exhibited during the event.
As stated by Chris Brownridge, CEO of Rolls-Royce, Villa d'Este represents the perfect context to celebrate the car as a work of art and a cultural symbol. Here, Rolls-Royce presented the Phantom Goldfinger, a masterful expression of its Bespoke programme, to the public, alongside the original 1937 model that inspired its design.

To mark the Phantom's 100-year history, Rolls-Royce has also set up an exhibition of eight original works of art, created by the designers of the House of Goodwood. Each canvas tells the story of an era of the Phantom through art styles inspired by decades, illustrating the aesthetic evolution and iconic role this car has taken on over time.
The opening ceremony of the competition saw a perfectly restored Phantom V parade: a model loved by heads of state, cultural icons and great personalities of the twentieth century, which still embodies prestige, power and leadership today.
In a year full of exclusive events related to art, luxury and culture in Italy, Rolls-Royce's participation in the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este with the Phantom Goldfinger represented a tribute of excellence to the history of the automobile and the evocative power of cinema, reaffirming the role of the Phantom as a timeless symbol of inspiration, elegance and craftsmanship.
