Ferrari Amalfi Spider
Ferrari expands its grand touring universe with the new Ferrari Amalfi Spider, a mid-front-engined V8 2+ spider that interprets the balance between performance, style and versatility within the Prancing Horse range in an open key.
Designed for those who want a more dynamic drive without sacrificing comfort, refinement and ease of use, the Amalfi Spider takes Ferrari's concept of sportiness into an even more sensory dimension, where open-air travel becomes an integral part of the experience.
The car was created to combine high performance and daily use, while keeping the pleasure of open-top driving intact. With the top down, the relationship with the road and the surrounding environment becomes more direct, but without sacrificing practicality or well-being on board. This is its distinctive feature: a Ferrari designed to excite, but also to be experienced naturally.
Stylistically, the project was developed by the Ferrari Design Studio under the direction of Flavio Manzoni, with the aim of preserving the proportions and volumes of the Ferrari Amalfi, while maintaining its elegant and fluid silhouette even in an open configuration. The formal language focuses on a fluid, minimalist and functional approach, built on sculpted surfaces and clean volumes that convey modernity and dynamism.
The spider adopts a fabric soft top that reinforces its versatile character and clearly defines its positioning in the Ferrari range. The soft top is available in four colours of tailored fabric and in two variants of technical fabric, including the new Tecnico Ottanio. The particular texture of the technical fabric generates a shimmering three-dimensional effect, while the optional contrasting stitching accentuates the car's double register, between sportiness and elegance. With the top open, the technical fabric can also extend to the luggage compartment cover and adjacent rear surfaces, creating an unprecedented material continuity over the entire rear. The soft top opens in 13.5 seconds and can also be operated on the move at speeds of up to 60 km/h. When folded, it takes up only 220 mm in thickness.
For the Amalfi Spider, Ferrari also introduces the new Rosso Tramonto color, an exclusive shade inspired by the landscape of the Amalfi Coast at the border moment between sea and sky at dusk. It stands out for subtle orange shades that evoke the warm light of the sunset and enhance the sculpted surfaces of the car, enriching the Ferrari red palette with a new interpretation of elegance and intensity.
The cockpit takes up the layout of the Ferrari Amalfi, developing a double cockpit architecture that creates a marked cocoon effect around the driver and passenger. The clean and contemporary layout extends from the front seats along the dashboard and door panels, to the central tunnel. The 2+ configuration increases the versatility of the car, allowing the use of rear seats for children or to expand the load capacity.
The new steering wheel brings the physical buttons back to the forefront, with a layout designed to ensure ergonomics and immediacy. On the left spoke appears the return of the iconic anodized aluminum start button, while the system is articulated around three main displays. Connectivity includes Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto®, wireless charging and the MyFerrari Connect system for remote monitoring. The vehicle integrates a wind deflector in the rear backrests, which can be operated at the touch of a button, which reduces turbulence and noise around the passengers' heads.
Under the long sculpted bonnet is the latest evolution of the 3,855cc F154 twin-turbo V8, the most awarded Ferrari engine in the brand's recent history. In this configuration, it delivers 640 hp at 7,500 rpm, with a specific power of 166 hp/liter and a maximum rpm of 7,600 rpm.
On the dynamic front, the Amalfi Spider represents an important evolution in the panorama of front-engined 2+ spiders. The car adopts the brake-by-wire system, which improves braking efficiency, reduces pedal travel and optimises pedal modulation even in the presence of ABS. It mounts 20-inch wheels with 245/35 R20 tires at the front and 285/35 R20 at the rear, developed together with Pirelli, Goodyear and Bridgestone. As standard, the car offers adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, lane departure warning, lane keeping, automatic high beams, traffic sign recognition and driver fatigue and distraction detection. Options include Surround View and rear cross traffic alert.
To complete the experience, Ferrari includes the seven-year Genuine Maintenance program on the Amalfi Spider, available for the entire range and valid in all markets and at all dealerships participating in the official network. The programme covers routine maintenance in the first seven years of the car's life, with interventions every 20,000 km or once a year with no mileage limits, use of original spare parts and checks carried out by personnel trained in Maranello. Ferrari Amalfi Spider brings the pleasure of open-top driving, for those who want to experience the sportiness of the Prancing Horse in a more sensory, sophisticated and fully contemporary form.
