Bugatti Veyron 20 Years: a collector's restoration
Bugatti celebrates the twentieth anniversary of the Veyron with "La Maison Pur Sang Veyron 20 Years", a one-of-a-kind restored and customized by the division of the Molsheim-based company specializing in the certification, conservation and enhancement of the brand's historic cars . The project, developed together with the owner, combines respect for the original architecture with materials, finishes and technical solutions created specifically for this car.
Presented in 2026, two decades after the arrival on the market of the model that helped define the modern concept of hypercar, the creation also shows how Bugatti intends to manage the heritage of its collector's cars: not only by restoring them to their original condition, but by allowing owners to reinterpret them through interventions carried out directly by the company.
La Maison Pur Sang, the Bugatti program for collector's cars
The La Maison Pur Sang program was introduced by Bugatti at the Rétromobile in Paris in 2020 and is dedicated to the brand's cars that require certification, specialized maintenance, restoration or customization. The level of intervention varies according to the car and the owner's requests. A car can be preserved in its original configuration, with work focused on authenticity and provenance, or it can be subjected to a broader reinterpretation involving colors, materials, passenger compartment and some technical elements. The Veyron 20 Years belongs to this second category and represents one of the most articulated examples of the possibilities offered by the program.
Rouge Rembrandt and Petrol Blue for the bodywork
The exterior configuration uses two shades from the current Bugatti universe but never previously used on the Veyron. The Rouge Rembrandt, introduced on the new Tourbillon, is combined with the Petrol Blue associated with the Chiron. The combination visually updates the car without intervening on the proportions that characterize the original project.
The passenger compartment is instead finished in the Magnolia shade, chosen to create a brighter contrast with the bodywork.
New rims allow you to use tires in the sizes of the Chiron
One of the most technically significant interventions concerns the wheels. Bugatti has reinterpreted the Machiavelli design by developing new larger rims: 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. The modification allows the car to adopt tires in the same dimensions used by the Chiron, updating one of the most complex elements in the long-term management of a hypercar born twenty years ago. The design retains a direct link with the original one, thus avoiding transforming the appearance of the car through components foreign to its stylistic language. The front, side and rear air intakes have also been revised through new three-dimensional mesh elements, designed to give greater depth and a more contemporary finish to the surfaces.
In the passenger compartment, a finish inspired by Haute Horlogerie
Customization continues inside with materials developed specifically for the project. The steering wheel and gear lever feature handmade Moccasin stitching, while a special "20 Years of Veyron" emblem has been inserted between the seats. The most particular element, however, is located on the center console, where Bugatti has applied a Côte de Genève workmanship, a decorative motif traditionally used on Swiss Haute Horlogerie movements. The result creates a direct link between two areas of luxury manufacturing in which technical precision and craftsmanship play a central role.
A new approach to the restoration of collectible hypercars
The project also takes on particular importance for the collector car market. With the entry of the first modern hypercars into the age of historic vehicles, conservation no longer concerns only the bodywork, engine and mechanical components, but very complex systems, special materials and parts originally developed for extremely limited productions. The Maison Pur Sang allows Bugatti to directly maintain control over the authenticity and quality of the interventions, while offering owners the possibility of modifying their cars without resorting to external tuners. With the Veyron 20 Years, restoration therefore also becomes a form of contemporary customization : the identity of the car is preserved, while colors, materials, wheels and details are updated according to the collector's requests and with the direct involvement of the Molsheim company.
