High-speed internet on Cessna Citation jets
Textron Aviation Inc. has announced a new step forward in the technological evolution of business aviation: starting from the end of 2025, the Gogo Galileo HDX satellite connectivity system will be available as an aftermarket upgrade for the entire Cessna Citation range, following the expected approval of the Supplementary Type Certification (STC) by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Designed for the most demanding executive segment, Gogo Galileo HDX leverages a low Earth orbit (LEO) network to deliver a stable, fast and continuous global connection experience, guaranteed regardless of flight route or latitude. The goal is clear: to offer uncompromising connectivity on board the iconic Citation business jets, capable of supporting complex operations, video conferencing, streaming and real-time work even during the longest or most remote routes.
The technical solution is state-of-the-art: the system consists of two LRUs (line-replaceable units), a fuselage-mounted HDX antenna and a state-of-the-art AVANCE router, which optimizes signal distribution and significantly reduces aircraft downtime.
Once STC approval by the FAA is complete, the installation will be available at Textron Aviation Service Centers in the United States. The subsequent EASA and TCCA certifications will allow the availability of the upgrade to be extended to the European and Canadian markets as well.
The list of compatible Citation models is extensive and includes: Citation X+, X, Sovereign+, Sovereign, Latitude, XLS Gen2, XLS+, XLS, Excel, CJ4 Gen2, CJ4, CJ3+, CJ3, CJ2+, CJ2, M2 Gen2, M2, CJ1+ and CJ1. It is a range that represents excellence in the panorama of light, medium and super midsize business jets, which have always been chosen by entrepreneurs, top managers and high-end charter jet operators. An upgrade that goes far beyond comfort, transforming the cabin into a true high-efficiency mobile platform, up to the highest expectations of the luxury aviation sector.
