Bombardier Global 8000 sets new speed record between Los Angeles and Farnborough
The Bombardier Global 8000 set a new speed record on the route between Los Angeles and Farnborough, completing the connection in 8 hours and 46 minutes on its way to the 2026 Farnborough International Airshow. Despite unfavorable wind conditions, the business jet reached a top speed of Mach 0.93, improving by 2.2% on the previous record recorded on the same pair of cities. The result confirms the performance of the new flagship model in the Bombardier range, designed to combine high speeds and ultra-long-range missions.
Speed up to Mach 0.95
The Global 8000 achieves a claimed top speed of Mach 0.95, a feature that Bombardier says makes it the fastest civilian aircraft since the Concorde. The range is up to 8,000 nautical miles, allowing you to tackle non-stop intercontinental connections and significantly reduce travel times on longer routes.
The new Los Angeles-Farnborough record joins the other records obtained by the Global family and continues the path started with the Global 7500, already the protagonist of numerous city-pair speed records.
Comfort designed for long distances
Performance is accompanied by a cab developed for ultra-long-range missions. The Global 8000 offers a minimum cabin height of 2,691 feet, an element designed to improve passenger comfort during long-duration flights. Speed, autonomy and operational capabilities are therefore at the heart of the positioning of the new business jet, intended for customers who require direct connections between very distant destinations without sacrificing comfort and flexibility.
The Global 8000 is also featured at the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, where it was presented for the first time through flight demonstrations.
