Embraer Phenom 300EV obtains certification in Europe, USA and Brazil
Embraer's Phenom 300EV has obtained certification from ANAC in Brazil, FAA in the United States and EASA in the European Union, completing the necessary process to operate in the main international markets. Unveiled on July 14, 2026, the new light business jet also becomes the first light jet certified with Garmin Emergency Autoland. The first deliveries are expected in 2028.
The new model represents the evolution of the Phenom 300 family and introduces updates regarding safety, avionics, autonomy and comfort on board. For those using private aviation, the most relevant elements are the increase in range, the ability to automatically make an emergency landing in the event of pilot incapacity, and an upgraded cabin with high-speed satellite connectivity.
Garmin Emergency Autoland debuts on a light jet
The main technological innovation of the Phenom 300EV is the Garmin Emergency Autoland system, designed to autonomously bring the aircraft to the ground if the pilot is no longer able to conduct the flight.
The system can automatically manage the different steps required to locate a suitable airport, approach the runway and make the landing. The Phenom 300EV is currently the largest business jet equipped with this technology and the first in the light jet category to be certified.
The new Multi-Purpose Electronic Controller (MEC) developed by Embraer also contributes to the electronic management of the aircraft, which integrates functions including rudder-by-wire and supports systems such as autobrake, with the aim of reducing the pilot's workload and simplifying some operational and maintenance activities.
The avionics suite is based on the Garmin G3000 Prodigy Touch and also includes autothrottle, Emergency Descent Mode, Synthetic Vision Guidance System, taxiway and runway handling assistance systems and the Runway Overrun Awareness & Alerting System.
Range up to 3,806 km
The Phenom 300EV brings the claimed range up to 2,055 nautical miles, or 3,806 km, considering four passengers and NBAA IFR reserves. The increased range expands the possibilities for non-stop regional and medium-haul flights. Embraer indicates, among examples, direct flights Aspen - New York, Dubai - Maldives and São Paulo - Manaus.
The business jet can reach a top speed of Mach 0.80 and also benefits from an increase in Maximum Zero Fuel Weight, which allows for an additional 195 kg of cargo capacity.
For owners and charter operators, the combination of autonomy and size of the light jet can translate into greater flexibility in the organization of flights, especially on routes on which avoiding a technical stopover allows to reduce overall travel times.
LEO satellite connectivity in the cabin
The interventions on the Phenom 300EV also concern the passenger experience. The aircraft will be available with a production-installed connectivity solution based on Gogo Galileo and the Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite network, designed to offer high-speed Internet access during flight.
Starlink will instead be available as an aftermarket solution through Supplemental Type Certificate (STC).
The availability of broadband satellite connections is particularly important in the business aviation segment, where the ability to carry out video conferences, use cloud services or continue to work during the flight is now an integral part of the experience required on new generation jets.
An upgraded cabin for private travel
Embraer has also modified several elements of the cab. The Phenom 300EV introduces a vacuum toilet, an improved temperature control system, a new refreshment center that can also be configured for the use of a hot drink machine and an air ionization system.
The maximum equivalent cabin altitude remains 6,600 feet, a feature designed to maintain a more comfortable environment during flights at altitude.
The jet also retains some of the distinctive elements of the Phenom 300 family, including large window surfaces and a particularly large luggage compartment compared to the size of the aircraft.
The Phenom 300EV will hit the market from 2028
The triple certification obtained on August 25, 2026 by ANAC, FAA and EASA represents a key regulatory step for the Phenom 300EV program, but it does not mean that the new model is already available for customers' commercial operations.
Embraer plans to start the first deliveries in 2028.
The new Phenom 300EV is part of a particularly competitive segment of business aviation, in which autonomy, operational simplicity, on-board technology and connectivity are becoming increasingly important in the purchasing decisions and offerings of charter operators. For passengers on private flights, the evolution of the Phenom 300 focuses above all on three aspects: greater capacity to make non-stop routes, more advanced automated safety systems and a cabin better suited to stay connected during the journey.
